Emma Buckmaster
My pictures use the landscape as a medium to explore human and political experience. Previously I worked on a series of etchings documenting the struggle for survival by local farming and fishing communities, whereas my most recent work is more personal.
Influenced by the early British landscape artists I have used the drama and the variety of my surroundings to illustrate emotions and events in my own life. Time and place are not important and only the nostalgia of the moment matters as each image triggers an association in one’s memory.
